English experience.

When I was a kid, I felt fulfilled knowing a couple of colors and numbers, like blue and red, and one, two, three, and the truth is that through the years I was increasingly interested in the idea of learning new words, but I ain't started learning English at school till I was at 5th grade. It was then that I started linking the English language perse.
Just the truth of things I would have preferred to study English as a subject from kindergarten or first grade.
Or even from a young age when learning to speak. In this way it would be like a second mother language and things would be quite different.

Here at the university I entered the third grade of English. But really the program taught by the university in this subject, in my opinion, is not a program that trains a person to go out into the world of work with a high level of English, but rather helps to express ourselves by exercising reading, writing and verbal expression. But the real training is what we bring with ourselves from always.
Writing blogs (or anything, but in English) is very useful to learn new words or phrases that before we didn’t know. And besides is entertaining to write.
What I really think I should do to improve my English is to have conversations in English with people. I feel that I know a lot of English, only that I have not had the disposition, the time or the money for the example, to pay for an English course like Open English.
And in truth, every day I occupy little English, only those moments that I see some movie / series, when I listen to music or when I look for information to study.

Changes.

As everything in any ambit, there is always a thing we can change to make it better. The carrer of pharmacy must be subject to changes, as a few carrers related to the area of health.
The career subjetc of the last semester, the pharmacist and his action, contains a section in which a couple of topics should be discussed. To me and my group, it corresponded to us to debate against the current curricular mesh of the carrer.
In this we do not agree with the professor, but the truth for us makes a lot of sense:
we believe that contemplating "ethics" as a subjetc is a pretty rational idea.
It is assumed that ethics is implemented transversally in each subject, but we believe that it is really necessary to be treated particularly as ethics and not globally through the career, even keeping in mind that this is an ethical career and everything that implies.
Regarding the workload and duration of the studies there is not much to discuss. The truth of things is that on the one hand is "negative" has a lot of worklaod. It can be very stressful or even frustrating.
But in the long term, it's in this way that we can advance the studies efficiently and systemically.
The duration of the career is well within the parameters that are established. A university career lasts at least 5 years, enough time to achieve the objectives and knowledge required to practice as a pharmacist.

Talking about the facilities of the faculty ... well, in front of this point there is much to discuss. Certainly this is not the most beautiful faculty of Chilean universities.
The facilities there are some good, like the new building built in grass of
"anexo", and others that leave a lot to desire, such as tables in that place, or as the physical state of bathrooms.
Regarding the use of technology, the truth is that it is nothing out of the ordinary in this first year, nothing beyond using a microscope in biology or experiments with current in physics.
I really hope later to be enchanted with processes where other technological instruments are used, such as micropipettes, microscopes of enormous capacity, or a tablet counting machine, in example.
But as well as "change technology", I would only say that it is reasonable to be updated on technological instruments in order to improve the teaching.
And finally speaking of teaching as such in the university, there is not much to change. Only to say that the study is on one's part.
The professor in the universities is usually that person to whom to direct the doubts of what one has studied.
Only some teachers are the exception and have the ability or intention to teach in such a way that the student achieves to comprehend the respective subject.

South of Chile.

The end-of-year periods are long and stressful, first in terms of university responsibilities and, on the other hand, trying to meet friends and family.
Finishing with the university this year and it is only to enjoy the vacations completely. It is time to take it to completely recover and renew the energies.I have been thinking that I could work a vacation time and save money to travel to the south of Chile with my friends. They are plans that I have in mind, only that once having the money to pay for everything necessary I will begin to plan everything with regard to routes or time to be outside of Santiago.
Lake Llanquihue could be a place to spend to look at on the way. It is the second largest lake in Chile. It is located between Osorno and Llanquihue in Los Lagos. You can see the Volcano Osorno and Calbuco and its banks are Frutillar, Puerto Varas, Puerto Octay and Llanquihue.
San Rafael Lake.
The north ice field, the san rafael lagoon and the san rafael ventisquero create a beautiful place for it's landscape and its ecological biodiversity, for which the unesco has declared it as biosphere reserve.

And for the last visit to a beautiful place: torres de paine, recognized as a world booking of the biosphere by unesco. conformed from glaciers, mountains, valleys, rivers and lakes.

They are three towers. They are huge granite towers that along their history have gone curious sharp shapes which reaches red shades at dawn and sunset.

Drug abuse and drugs.

I am not completely familiar with the effects or in itself with drug abuse, I simply know that there are more "strong" drugs like cocaine, acids, or heroin, or others more "soft" like marijuana or legal drugs like tobacco and alcohol. Cocaine generates a body effect of hardness, acids or heroin hallucinate, sometimes marijuana on its part makes hallucinate depending on the THC concentration of it, alcohol gets drunk and cigar ... Well, the cigar does not produce a momentary effect. But all causes of the long term cause the degeneration of the person at the body level and some to a greater or lesser extent at the brain or consciousness level.
Talking about legal drugs, like the fast food, tea, sugar or coffee, many of us are addicted to this type of drugs. I'm addicted to fast food and soft drinks.
Now, talking about kind of party and celebrations drugs , at 15-16 years old, I started drinking alcohol at parties and at 16 I started to smoke a cigar, and I did this for 5 years, until October 2016 (11th October specifically), after that I stopped drinking and smoking by decision and personal determination. And on the other hand I am a consumer of recreational cannabis.
But I wouldn't speak of drug abuse at all.

Drugs has positive effects on our organisms, and negative effects, degenerating. Just to name a few, in example marijuana, is one of the most famous and in some parts of the world is already being legalized. Medicinal marijuana helps stopping the spread of diseases such as HIV, Alzheimer, epilepsy and glaucoma, reduce insulin levels for people with diabetes, and other benefits with neuronal diseases such as anxiety and depression. In contrast, its non-medicinal or recreational use through combustion affects male sexual capacity, produces respiratory diseases or negatively affects the brain.
Another very famous drug is cocaine. At one time this drug was totally legal. It helps to combat depression, sexual impotence besides being used as an anesthetic. Also among its negative effects are in general the interruption of the irriga

tion of the blood vessels and generation of psychological problems.
Finally, the drug LSD: According to several studies LSD is used for the treatment of alcoholism, helping the patient not to relapse, so that it gives a different perception of life to analyze the situation.
Oppositely to the positive effects it generates, or could provoke anxiety and psychosis
A person prone to psychological disorders has a high risk of having undesirable consequences and disorders directly associated with use.

Here is a list of abstinence effects of some drugs:
1. Alcohol: Tremors, insomnia, sweating, nausea, being able to reach convulsions or Delirium.
2. Barbiturates: Anxiety, insomnia, tremors, delirium and seizures.
3. Heroin: Tears, rhinorrhea, irritability, tremors, yawning, piloerection, mydriatic pupils, insomnia, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle cramps and loss of appetite.
4. Cocaine: Depression, irritability, insomnia, changes in appetite, nausea, lethargy, anergy, psychomotor retardation, disturbed sleep rhythm, hypersomnia, apathy.
5. Cannabis: Insomnia, hyperactivity and decreased appetite.
6. Amphetamines: Fatigue, sleep disorder, appetite disturbances, irritability and depressive mood.
7. Inhalants: Insomnia, increased appetite, depression, irritability and headaches.
8. Tobacco: Anxiety, irritability, sleep disturbance.

The abuse of drugs that degenerate the human being impacts directly on development in the society in which we are immersed, forming part of the same social segregation itself.
I don't know an addict people, but I have shared many times with people who are and the truth is the emaciation of the person on a physiological and mental level given the unconsciousness these people present in front of their own reality.
Under the look and knowledge that a pharmaceutic has on drugs, a comparison can be established between good and bad effects of these on the organism of a human and as a consequence in society. In this way, it is necessary to warn against the harmful effects of drug abuse and even more to achieve a decrease in the statistics regarding the number of drug addicts, how addicted they are or similar factors that converge in an integral appreciation of the level of drug addiction of someone.

Future work.

In the future I'd like to work as pharmaceutic, but not for all my life.
Actually as a pharmacist I would like to work in 2 areas in which they (not “we” yet) can perform: on the one hand I'd like to work in investigation area. It sounds like one day you’ll encounter some new radioactive element, or you find out that other people missed a detail in them investigation and did not noticed it when they studied a situation or problem and this detail make the world change radically, for better obviously, or perhaps not just a detail but an idea.
Working in the industry can be interesting, in the other hand, to personally design the challenge of minimizing the impact of the development of the industrial activity of drugs and cosmetics.
They all point to a professional help that must be given to the citizens, which also seems attractive to me because people are being taught for their own health, and it is nice to know that you help in this way more than many others.
I just don’t know if I would practice as a pharmacist all my life: a hypothetical chance also that I have in mind to be able to make investments and be an businessperson in an area of interest and consumption, either within the world of this career as having a pharmacy, or outside of the previous as would be for example have properties, a long and strenuous way, but after that long journey the fruits of the possibility of devoting more time to other things that we could not prioritize.
So in pharmaceutic area or out of it it might be an indoor working.
The topic of money, truth is not a point to focus on, because working as pharmacist in any of its areas does not earn a bad salary. But if there is no family to which it is maintained, the salary will reach perfectly for the necessary and the superficial things.

And after the undergraduate school, I still do not know which major did, but at least I do have in mind to get some more of something, since it is a more necessary enough today.
Maybe an option is to do a Ph.D.

My hobbies.

When I was a kid, I used to play many games as a hobby, as "al pillarse", "caballito de bronce", etc.
But the hobby that I liked the most was playing football. The truth was that I was passionate about playing football, I was not so good at it, was not bad neither... But things happened in my life that separated me from cores of friendships and I left it when I was 14 years old. And the truth today I would like to play again ...
And life was just hobbies when kids.
Within all the things I did as a child, I learned to play guitar, and that is and has been my greatest hobbie.
The truth I can not imagine living without a guitar. Every time I stress at home I take the guitar and with a couple of minutes the therapy is over... hahaha.
Once I got older, I learned how to cook. And for me it's a hobby because I do not cook regularly. I do not usually cook because I do not have the need, but in special occasions it is a very pleasant thing. To welcome the family, to go to someone's house to cook, is a very entertaining activity.
Another hobby is planting. I realized that I had a good hand to look after those organisms, and I began to like the idea. When I was a child, I saw my grandmothers talking to the plants, and I thought to myself, "Is she crazy?", But once I started to hook up with the subject, I realized it was something magic. It is wonderful to see a loved one grow. In addition, it is never too much to have your own fruits, product of your own effort and dedication.
I would never have as hobbie to play games like chess, or poker, or things like that. I actually prefer activities that involve physical activity.
In the future I would like to have hobbie learn as many things as possible in life. I think it would be great someday to become a pretty cultured person.

The heart.

Having a healthy heart is a task that we must learn from a young age, since otherwise we are exposed to diabetes, cardiovascular accidents and a long list of diseases, some mild and other serious.
According to this, we will have a healthy life, which will not avoid as an ancestral method to not suffer any harm, but it is necessary to pump about 4.5L of blood for 24 hours a day throughout life.
Thus, to achieve this goal, it is necessary to do exercise, and mostly (70% of keep a healthy life is in food, and 30% sport).
Therefore we need to be clear what actually means to eat healthy.
Some general features of eating healthy food includes vegetables and fruits, to choose healthy fats, skim milk, pistachios and nuts instead industrial chips, nuts such as walnuts, almonds, hazelnuts, garlic herbal salt, olive oil instead butter, cereals, whole-grain bread/wholemeal bread instead of sugary cereals or white bread.

Here in Chile avoid to eat excessively food that contains the black seals:
Black seals are designed for 100 g in the case of solid products, and 100 ml for liquids.
for every 100 grams of this product (which have the "high in" seal , contains the following:
High in calories: 350 calories;
High in sodium, 800 mg of sodium;
High in sugar, 22.5 grams of total sugars;
High fat, 6 g of saturated fat.

In liquids per 100 ml of product, it has the following:
High in calories, it means that it contains 100 calories;
High in sodium, more than 100 milligrams of sodium;
High in sugar, 6 grams of total sugars;
High in fats, more than 3 grams of saturated fats.

Beyond this information, more than anything, have in mind that the food they sell today in the trade is not always a great choice, therefore we must always be very careful and be attentive to the food products we buy. Not always possible but an excellent choice is to cultivate food and produce, being more general.

Best holidays

I think the best holidays I've experienced was when I went out with my two soul cousins to Pichilemu about 3 years ago. We spent about 4 days together and we ain’t stop enjoying any moment but to sleep a bit. In that place we met a lot of people playing guitar and singing everywhere and walking to anyplace near to continue knowing. In a moment a woman whose name I can’t remember stopped to talk to us in the street because we asked her for information and we were talking for several minutes about the place and the nearest places there. And in the meanwhile talking, she offered us to stay in her home, even knowing that we were some unknown strangers who perfectly could hurt her or God knows what. She must’ve seen something. But on the contrary it was a totally enriching experience. So we stayed in Pichilemu and shared with her son and nephews, went to the beach, people surfing, at night the disco the entrance was for free, the day knowing the city, the skate park, playing guitar and singing always, chilling, we went to the “Infiernillo” beach that is right by the side of the beach of Pichilemu, and one of the more spectacular facts that happened was that I met two people who in those years we were friends: one in Infiernillo and the other in the disco, and I must admit that it was pretty funny. So in resume, it was a pretty inten
se, wonderful and enriching experience.

Greece

When I was at school I didn't appreciated the value of universal history, but over now I realize the importance about the evolution of things and facts. Thousands of years before the people didn't lived even close the way we live today; but was then when the history was being written. They were the people who discovered how the world works, so, being more specific, I’ve always being interested on big buildings of ancient empires or civilizations. They were so brilliant so the build like nothing the sphinx (Its approximate dimensions are: 57 meters in length and 20 meters in height) or a pyramid, like the Grate Pyramid of Guiza, Egipto.
But a beauty country I’d like to visit is Greece. The crystal clear beaches of Santorini, Corfu and Mykonos will bewitch me.
In Athens the recurring places are to the Acropolis, the museum, the temple of Zeus, the stadium and the Parthenon.

And I must confess that I love to appreciate the architecture of places, even more a giant place as a city, and I can say I’d like to live in Santorini, Greece. It’s simply beautiful.

My blogging experience

Was a nice experience writing this blog because I like to write. Is not that I do it, but when I have to do it (now in example) is something comfortable. I’m pretty imaginative, so I can get inspired. When I was a kid, I already readed well, so writing wasn't hard because of it. This way I got skills to write (in Spanish) well.
But writing in English sometimes is a problem. There are many words I haven't ever listened or saw or whatever, then I have to be constantly searching for words, full ideas sometimes, correct ways of saying anything that I've always been saying wrong or things like that.
I’d include English forums in the future, so we can speak free about things we like or came to the mind in the moment.I would like to write about esoteric things or stuff like universe and time. I’m not a religious or catholic guy, but I like the idea that we reincarnate, or we will get again the whole knowledge when our souls find their way out of this jail we call body.  ¿Will death be a part of this life and just another part of our timeline in this weird existence? ¿There is another life after this? ¿Why did too much people believe in that Jesus is the son of God in Earth?

¿Transgenic or natural?

Transgenic food is the food which receives a gene foreign to their species, and when is grown up have specific characteristics, depending on what the producer want from it.
This way, can be increased the productivity of a cultivation, make it more resistant to plagues or herbicides, or can make it resistant to hostiles conditions, as the drought.

I don’t know if I’m right, but the importance of it in the career may be oriented to solving problems of malnutrition in the world.

I decide to write about this because I’m not really familiarised with it, knowing that is an important topic day by day, and get to know the most of variables derived from this subject, the good ones and the bad ones.
There is a constant discussion about the use of transgenic food, because there is a lack of knowledge about the toxicological risk that nano-material can cause.
The most contrary to transgenic food point to the atrophy of the human chain, allergies and even carcinogenic elements. But the 90% of scientific community is with these foods and among its advantages, they say, is the reduction of pesticides (acaricides, fungicides, etc.).
So, the future is uncertain, and it will continue like this for now: According to a report by the House of Lords for Science and Technology in the UK, food companies zealously guard research on foods developed with nanotechnology, too many secrets that obscure the transparency of the use of nanotechnology in food.

And it’s not a subject I’ve been interested before, I just started feel attract for it so I’m learning about it now hahah.
I’m not agree or against it, at least not yet. But there exist the possibility that it helps a lot to decrease the hungry in the world, because it is strong food, resistant to many factors that can deteriorate it.

My favorite subject.

I think I don't like any but I feel attract by most of naturals sciences, because there has been discovered a lot of facts that happen naturally but we found the way to comprehend it and it is the way the universe can know itself.
Perhaps watching just what we are cursing at this moment I like the subject "QF y su acción" because it make us know much better the general view of the principal work of the pharmaceutic.
There are 40 people and all the students (the 160 students) are separated in four sections: debate, visits, terminology and talking.
The subject nurture you in knowledge about how is the world of the pharmaceutic, who is in constant contact with people and helps them a lot.
The most of the subject is about customise and identify with the pharmaceutic. There is big responsibility which makes you retain a lot of information.
What really make it interesting is the instance of a good way to help healthy and wellness in general to the people and caring about them, in the first part, and in the second part, to know very well a science makes you see the life in another way, so the most things we learn the most richer gets the life.
Talking about the university particular, we learn from people who manipulates everything we need to know to be an integral pharmaceutic. They are professionally and humanly nice people, so it is nice to study here.
What made me choose to study this career is that it focus in basics sciences like biology, chemistry, and it guides you to know the way the world works in a natural way. Studying another areas as physics in example also nurture you, as philosophy which may help's your way of thinking, too.
Almost is the finish of the semester and it is many information to learn and the programs of the subjects are almost complete. In QF we have learn about the working way of labs which the career focus us.

An expert that I admire.

In this whole time lapse since we as humanity has started discovering and inventing a lot of ideas and physical things, it's been created a lot of fascinating inventions. Some of them, a few more important that others, have really changed the course of history.
Some people were interested in art, others were in politics, and many men were interested in inventions that could help to the world comfort.
An important person of the development of history that I admire is Thomas Edison.
¡I like him because he was the author of a thousand (and a bit more) inventions! So he's considerate one of the most important inventors of the U.S.A.

He was an inventor who was born in February 11th, 1847, in Milan, Ohio, E.E.U.U.
Although is true that there was several men who tried to invent it, too, Edison was the one who made it good. I'm talking about the incandescent lamp.
It was like this: in 1897 he invented a system of functional illumination, with a generator, wires and a light bulb (with carbon filament). With only this invention, people's life started change. Now people could work in nights without the necessity of fire, or do anything that requires our vision even in the dark.
Between others inventions of Edison stand out the phonograph, the graphite microphone, kinetoscope and the nickel-iron
 battery.

¡LITTLE BIG!

Well, I was thinking about what picture I could speak of... then I founded this photograph.
This is me, when I was about 4 years old, in 1999.
It was taken by my dad. The guitar used to belong to him many years ago, about 15 years. And I used to took it without permission to play it hahaha... and he scolded me. But actually I didn't really know how to play it in this moment... but I liked.

Me, 18 years ago.
And as the artists, we can see things that no other person could in its art piece, so in my way of seeing, I like this photo not because it shows a physical thing, or place: It shows me my big love for it (guitar), and that it always has been like this, since I have memory.
But as I said before, my father used to scold me for using his guitar without permission. ¡So it is paradoxical, for the reason that he took this picture of me playing his guitar!

The magic of music.

Woah, when you are asked about what kind music you like most, is something hard to answer. I mean, isn't "hard", but is a topic of wich we can be hours talking about. In example, right now I'm listening Pink Floyd. They are just wonderful.
In general, I like listening to a lot of kind of music; trap, rock, hip hop, rap, R&B, pop, romantic ballads, reggae sometimes, music to the soul as bossa nova or jazz, music to dance as reggaeton, salsa, bachata, merengue, electronic, cumbia or pachanga... And I could write a testament about it! But if I had to select a kind of music, I'd say the urban music as hip hop or similar are my choices.
Instruments... ¡I love them! At least a great part of them: piano, harp, treble, violin, classic guitar, electric too, saxophone, traversa flute, clarinet, bongo drum, drum kit and ukelele, to mention some of them.
My guitar :B
So... music is a very important part of my life. When I was 9 years old, my older cousin teach me how to play guitar, at beginning some notes as C, D, G… and the F, I think was hard to learn. I mean, everyone who plays guitar for the first time knows what I'm really talking about. Playing the F note is a big step in learning to play guitar. So, what can I say, I love guitar, especially mine, obviously.
My favourites singers are those who left their mark, alive or death singers: Jim Morrison, Amy Winehouse, Los Prisioneros, Soda Stereo, Los Tres, Michael Jackson, Simply Red, Guns n' Roses, Janis Joplin, Pink Floyd or Pearl Jam, to name a few.
I haven't really stoped listening any kind of music. I've been collecting different types of music styles and songs for all my life, it's not like "oh, I don't like this singer anymore because I like other things I didn't like when I was a child", but I'm adding more songs and artist to my personal musical library through the years. Just the songs of Barney, the TV show. I really hate them. And I did love that show when I was a kid.
I remember the final song of the movie "50 first dates" with Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler: “Somewhere over the rainbow”. It's way too beauty song. And the song “my heart will go on”, of Titanic.

Bellow here there is a song of Pink Floyd. It is really beautiful. It's poetry. ¡If you haven't ever listened it, I hope you like it!
Wish you were here♡

Technology and us.

As the most, I prefer the smartphone: It's easy to use, portable, multi-functional, and they are elegant to the look.
We can watch video files, film and take pictures (pretty good pictures), play music, being in contact with anyone in anywhere in the world, and a lot of things else that makes our lives a little easier.
My actual smartphone was given to me by my sister about 1 month ago. She always give me her old material things as technology. It's worth to mentioning she is 16 years old.
I mostly use it to know what time and date it is, to chat in WhatsApp, to find information when I don't have a computer near, and finally I use it to play music, too.
I don't really use it too much, in hours per day, I would say that I use it about 3-4 ours between bus, subway and walking from home to university and vice versa.
Day by day, having a smartphone it's kind of vital thing. We can go out without our smartphone, because our virtual life is pretty connected to our real life.

Near to people.

Hi there. It's me again.
must confess that when I was a child, I didn't really had a dream job. I used to play with friends and ride in my bicycle all day and every day. However, I could say something: ¡I think I dreamed of being an inventor! I used to imagine kind of a little TV that I could hold in my hands, but it's funny, because I pictured it as the older TV's, those that looks like a box, far away from what we imagine when someone says a portable TV, in example. When I end the career, I'd like to discover things, medical cures, or anything that could help at least one single person, to the satisfaction of making someone's life's any better.I thought to study Astronomy, or something related to physics, because I like that, but I finally decided to study Pharmacy. And a real important reason, is trying to make a better world, working directly with persons, make personal contact and educate the society the most possible. This career and this university is a whole experience, I really mean it. I can say it because I studied in another university before, away from Santiago, and it was completely different. Here we all are a community, with common ideals, we care about our welfare, being a "mechón" is not that different of a second or third grade student. We all help each other, and that's not something that happen in anywhere.
"Divide is weakness." Jorge González.

¿Are we the golden generation?

In San Miguel, Santiago, something was happening around 5 a.m., on 7th January, 1995, was born Esteban Cartes Jr., a normal guy who loves life, nature, study and party. Obviously I'm talking about myself, but this English class is like, "hey, the pronunciation is first rising, and then falling down" so I think I have to do this blog like someone who talks english as maternal language would do it. So, I’m going to talk a little about me: I live in Puente Alto, Santiago, I’m 22, Capricorn, and I love this career, now is my second love… after guitar. And now I’m talking what is really significant: the use of internet, trademarks like Facebook or WhatsApp and sharing lots and lots of information. Certainly today in the XXI century, young people use their smartphones to graphic functions in maths, by example, or in general finding information as easy as a finger touching.Personally I think that we give a good use to this technology we have the privilege to get access to. And we really appreciate it. ¡We can really do the impossible thanks to this!
